An immigration status that's considered eligible for getting health coverage through the Marketplace.
The rules for eligible immigration status may be different in each insurance affordability program.
Note: This means if the person does not have a legal immigrant status they cannot buy insurance through the Marketplace.
However, it is possible to purchase insurance in the open market through agents or directly from insurers.
