Household

Who's in your household ?

This section gets really personal. You will be asked questions like your birth date and sex. If you are applying for other family members you will need to provide the same information for them.

You will need to enter your social security number along with others in your household.

Are you a U.S. citizen? You do not have to be a citizen to receive premium tax credits. But you would need a legal immigrant status. If you are unclear about what immigrant status is eligible for enrollment, you can read more at Immigrants & Coverage.

If you are a U.S. citizen, you will be asked if you were naturalized. If you select yes, you will be asked to provide the certificate number that appears on the top of your naturalization certificate.

♦ Expect to be asked to provide a COPY of this paper. You will be able to scan it and upload the document to save time.

You will be asked if you plan to file taxes for the year you will be receiving help. You are applying for coverage starting 2023. So, they are referring to tax year 2023.

• Those taxes are not filed until the spring of 2024. Even if you did not file taxes this year, you better select Yes.

Another way of saying this is: If you receive premium tax credits to use to purchase insurance in 2023, you must reconcile those credits on your 2023 tax filing. So YES you will file taxes (for 2023).

You will be asked if you are taking care of any children. This could affect how much you qualify for.

You will be asked if you or anyone in your household is disabled. This is an optional question.
