Quality Ratings

To help you compare Marketplace plans, plans are given a quality rating or star rating.

Each rated health plan has an “Overall” quality rating of 1 to 5 stars (5 is highest).

The overall rating includes member experience, medical care, and health plan administration. Each of these items also have star ratings.

The plans provide information to the Marketplace. The Marketplace confirms the data and assigns the ratings.

In some cases — like when plans are new or have low enrollment — ratings aren’t available.

The weak link in this rating system is that the Plans control the collect of feedback on themselves. This can make the scoring less reliable so use caution when considering a Plan.
